Mayowa is a creator and activist focused on race, gender, and social justice. As the founder of Mayowasworld, they produce educational content on colorism and texturism. Mayowa

directed the award-winning film Acting White, founded Warmer Shades to showcase dark-skinned performers, and performed the one-woman show Kween Kong. She was also a German Chancellor Fellow for the Aleander Von Humboldt Fellowship, where they researched Afro-German experiences and hosted events like Germany’s largest feminist gala with Kimberlé Crenshaw. Mayowa has performed stand-up for Nike Germany and led Issa Comedy Show, using humor to spark conversations on race and gender.
